View the other drawings from week 4.
I was on the other side of the room this week and found it difficult to get into a suitable position. I also forgot to pick up a drawing board so was a little hampered for the first half by trying to draw at a much flatter angle and on floppy paper.
The shortest poses were 2 minutes long. The shorter poses were about 10 minutes long. The longer poses were about 20 or 25 minutes long. I may have got muddled as to the order of the drawings and length of the pose for the middle ones.
I was not very happy with my efforts by the end of that evening. The lack of distance from the model, and lack of room to move around much is definitely challenging. Challenging is good though. I really like the alternating between male and female models. The contrast between them does help me to approach each session with a fresh eye, and to think more about their structures.
I enjoy the brief chats I have with the others attending the sessions (including the models). Everyone is interesting and likeable.
Only two more session left now. There are another 6 sessions starting in May, for which I have put down my name, but I shall miss my couple of hours per week of drawing during the weeks in between.
I am getting the urge to do some portrait work and some life painting, but I ran out of people willing to sit for their portrait years ago, and have not seen anyone offering life painting sessions in our area.
