Saturday did not start brilliantly. I still felt nauseous but also that I was recovering from the bug. I felt very tired (I had not slept well that week or preceding weeks).
Eventually I roused myself to go out to get milk and bread. I did the necessary shopping as quickly as possible. As I was driving home, I caught the reflection of an unusual rainbow in my wing mirror. It was unusually and extraordinarily wide. I turned off the road and tried to head back in that direction again. By the time I had got to a point where I might be able to park the car so I could take photographs, it had faded away. I try to anticipate such evanescent light displays in the sky but it is still a matter of chance as to whether I can photograph them.
